Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Sullivan is a native of in and lived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam, Jazmine's mother, is an ex-backup artist from Philadelphia International Records. Her father gave her a job as the curator of the Historic Strawberry Mansion. She and her family later moved into the historical landmark. In 2005, a Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts student who is majoring in vocal music. Sullivan performed as the contralto singer for the choir for children and then sang in the adult chorus. Sullivan wasn't exposed to secular music initially. "I began singing in solos in church, and somebody was urging me to sign up for a gospel recording at the age of 11. However, I was not ready to do that," she says. Then, McDonald's held a contest for kids in big cities. I was able to sing "Accept The Grace God Gives" on it's Showtime at the Apollo. And the public was extremely supportive. She performed alongside Stevie Wonder at his grandson's birthday at the age of thirteen. Sullivan made her first signing with Jive Records when she was 15. She recorded an entire album, but it was never released. Sullivan was then dropped off the record label. They had a strong working connection and Missy Elliott. Elliott produced some of her tracks such as "Backstabbers" that was produced by Timbaland.
